Rain? Roasting coffee? The crushed pine needles of a ancient Doug Fir? What does Seattle smell like?

Commissioned by Sundance TV and Visit Seattle to create a short animated marketing film which explores Seattle through one of the five sense, Kalakala chose one of the most challenging: smell.

Guided by the Pacific Northwest’s gentlest giant, “The Scent of a Sasquatch” presents a playful and utterly delightful cartoon portrayal of the Emerald City, with nods to the city’s rich history of shipping, coffee, beer, and music.
