It’s easy to forget about pioneers.

Today, video is ubiquitous but it owes everything to the early groundbreaking work of artists like Eadweard Muybridge. Commissioned by SFMoMa, Kalakala Animation created a collection of short documentaries that tell the stories of five pioneering photographers: Eadweard Muybridge, Julia Margaret Cameron, Man Ray, Carlton Watkins, and Henry Fox Talbot.
